Want to try your hand at making a stone tool? Already a “knapper” and want to meet other people with similar interests? Just want to see what making stone tools is all about?
Join Us for the Pre-Conference Knapping Session.
Friday 10-11:30am, Meet in the lobby of Flagg.
This informal session/workshop is an opportunity for novice and experienced knappers to come together and break some rock. There will be equipment available to borrow at the session but we encourage anyone with their own supplies to bring them along. Not sure what you will need, some commonly used items include:
Antler Tines/Pressure flakers
Pants and closed-toe shoes
We have a supply of Texas Chert to experiment with but welcome samples and donations of other cherts or siliceous materials for the group to work with or observe.
